About Gilded Peace
Gilded Peace Counseling (GPC) is a virtual therapy practice created to serve clients who want care that affirms their identities and honors their lived experiences. We specialize in working with individuals from marginalized communities — including those living with chronic illness, chronic pain, invisible disabilities, religious trauma, sexual trauma, and those recovering from cult-like environments.
Every aspect of care at GPC is collaborative, transparent, and paced with intention. Whether you're seeking weekly support or occasional guidance, therapy here is a shared process that always centers your autonomy.
compassionate care for complex realities

Hi, I'm Tia Hunter!
SHE/HER
I’m the therapist behind Gilded Peace. I show up in this work with transparency, warmth, and a lot of curiosity. I believe therapy should be collaborative and affirming, never prescriptive or performative.
I view every client through a multicultural and social justice lens, knowing that healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum — it happens in the context of culture, identity, power, and lived experience. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming, kink-competent, poly-aware, and a proud supporter of the Health at Every Size (HAES) movement.

You won’t find a one-size-fits-all approach here — just authentic, real conversation, and tools that support the life you want to live.

Trained in Trauma. Centered on Your Needs.
I’ve spent years training in evidence-based and body-based approaches to support clients navigating everything from anxiety and dissociation to relationship patterns, medical trauma, and identity exploration.
In addition to my work with chronic illness and trauma, I have experience supporting clients navigating:
-
Anxiety
-
Low Self-Esteem & Identity Work
-
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
-
Brain Injuries: Acquired and Traumatic (ABIs) & (TBIs)
-
Bipolar Disorder
-
Compulsive Behaviors & Dissociation
-
Perfectionism & Fear of Failure
No matter the label or experience, I approach every client with curiosity, care, and a commitment to helping you build a life that feels meaningful and manageable.
