Counseling that honors every part of your story.

Our specialities.

  • Chronic Illness.

Living with a chronic illness can be emotionally and mentally challenging, impacting identity, relationships, and overall well-being. GPC provides compassionate support using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for managing stress and anxiety, mindfulness-based techniques for improving the mind-body connection, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to foster resilience and self-acceptance. We also integrate somatic practices and solution-focused strategies to help clients navigate lifestyle changes, relationships, and medical trauma, empowering them to find balance, purpose, and fulfillment.

  • Invisible Disabilities.

Living with an invisible disability—such as chronic pain, ME/CFS, MCAS, Crohn’s Disease, Lupus, hearing impairment, TBI, Narcolepsy, MS, fibromyalgia, (to name a few) or a mental health disorder—can present unique challenges, especially when others may not see or understand your experience. At GPC, we provide a compassionate and supportive space where you can develop coping strategies, build self-advocacy skills, and enhance emotional resilience.

With evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to reframe negative thought patterns, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to manage stress and pain, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you align your actions with your values, we tailor our approach to your individual needs. Our goal is to empower you with the tools and strategies to confidently navigate daily life, improve overall well-being, and foster a greater sense of balance and fulfillment.

  • Black & Brown Communities.

Mental health challenges are often influenced by cultural values, intergenerational experiences, and systemic factors such as racism, discrimination, and historical trauma. GPC sets the standard for culturally affirming counseling that acknowledges these unique experiences while fostering healing, resilience, and empowerment. We integrate evidence-based interventions such as Culturally Adapted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CA-CBT) to address anxiety, depression, and racial stress within a cultural context, Narrative Therapy to explore identity, ancestral strength, and personal storytelling, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help balance personal well-being with collective and family responsibilities, Somatic Therapy to address the ways racial trauma is held in the body, Liberation Psychology to validate experiences of oppression and support social empowerment, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to promote grounding and self-care within cultural traditions.

We strive to create a safe, affirming space where you can heal, thrive, and honor your identity while building emotional well-being and strong community connections.

  • Intergenerational Trauma.

Intergenerational trauma—deep-seated emotional wounds passed down through families—can impact mental health, relationships, and overall well-being. GPC provides a supportive space to break these cycles and foster healing. Using evidence-based interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to process traumatic memories, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to reframe negative beliefs, and Narrative Therapy to help you rewrite your personal and family story, we guide you toward resilience and empowerment. With compassionate, personalized care, we help you heal from past wounds, build emotional strength, and create a healthier future.

  • LGBTQIA2S+

LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy provides a safe, supportive space for individuals to explore their identities, heal from minority stress, and build self-acceptance. At GPC, we understand the unique challenges LGBTQIA+ individuals face, including discrimination, family dynamics, and mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, and trauma. We offer compassionate, identity-affirming care that supports gender transition, relationships, and overall well-being.

GPC utilizes evidence-based interventions such as Family Systems Therapy to navigate relationships and chosen family dynamics, Mindfulness-Based Interventions to promote emotional regulation and self-care, Narrative Therapy to help you reclaim your personal story and identity, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to foster self-acceptance and resilience. We tailor our approach to your needs, allowing clients to feel seen, validated, and empowered to live unapologetically.

Clients are also welcome to ask about assessments and letter writing for gender affriming care.

  • Cult Recovery/Cult-Like Upbringing.

Leaving a high-control group or cult can be a deeply challenging and disorienting experience, often bringing feelings of grief, identity confusion, anxiety, and relational difficulties. GPC works to create a safe, nonjudgmental space to process your experiences, regain personal autonomy, and rebuild a life aligned with your true values. Incorporating evidence-based interventions such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to address thought distortions and emotional distress, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to develop emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills, Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore and heal conflicting internal parts shaped by the group’s influence, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to process traumatic memories, and Narrative Therapy to help reclaim your personal identity and rewrite your story.

Our goal is to help you regain confidence, establish healthy boundaries, and reconnect with yourself and others in a way that fosters empowerment, self-trust, and emotional well-being.

  • Trauma.

Experiencing trauma can have lasting effects on emotional well-being, relationships, and daily life, but healing is possible with the right support. GPC provides trauma-informed counseling to help you process past experiences, regain a sense of safety, and build resilience. Applying evidence-based interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to reduce distressing memories, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to reframe negative thought patterns, and Somatic Therapy to address how trauma is stored in the body, tailoring treatment to your unique needs. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can heal, regain control, and move forward with confidence and strength.

Clients are welcome to utilize our letter-writing services for emotional support animals.
